Karibu Kenya! Touch down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), where your friendly Pita Safaris driver-guide will greet you with a warm smile and a heartfelt “Karibu sana”—Swahili for you’re very welcome.
Transfer to Sarova Panafric Hotel, a stylish midrange base near Nairobi’s vibrant city center. Depending on your arrival time, unwind by the pool or explore Nairobi’s highlights: hand-feed endangered Rothschild’s giraffes at the Giraffe Centre, step into literary history at the Karen Blixen Museum, or sample Kenyan delicacies on a guided food tour.
- Travel Tip: Arriving early? The Nairobi National Museum offers fascinating insights into Kenya’s wildlife, history, and culture.
- Your Kenya safari adventure starts here—rest up, the wild calls tomorrow.
Distance: ~18 km | Drive Time: ~30 min

Day 2: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Into Big Five Territory
After breakfast, journey west (~280 km | 5–6 hours) through the Great Rift Valley, pausing at scenic viewpoints for sweeping escarpment panoramas. Arrive at Mara Sopa Lodge in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, venture out on your first Masai Mara game drive. The reserve is home to Africa’s Big Five—lions, leopards, elephants, buffalo, and rhinos—plus giraffes, cheetahs, and endless plains of antelope. The Mara’s golden light makes it a photographer’s dream.
- Photography Tip: Keep your camera ready—wildlife here often appears when you least expect it.
- Dreaming of Big Five encounters? Let Pita Safaris take you there.

Day 3: Full Day in Masai Mara – Predator & Migration Hotspot
Rise early for a sunrise game drive—prime time for predator action. Spot cheetahs scanning the horizon, elephants grazing in the morning mist, or hippos surfacing in the Mara River.
From July to October, witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, a breathtaking spectacle of millions of wildebeest and zebras braving the crocodile-filled Mara River.
Optional: Add a hot air balloon safari over the Mara at dawn, ending with a champagne breakfast in the bush.

Day 4: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru – From Lions to Flamingos
Enjoy a final early-morning game drive before heading northeast (~270 km | 5–6 hours) to Lake Nakuru National Park. Picnic lunch en route.
This compact yet biodiverse park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, famous for its pink flamingo flocks, pelicans, and over 400 bird species. It’s also one of Kenya’s top spots for black and white rhino sightings, plus Rothschild’s giraffes.
- Did You Know? Lake Nakuru’s alkaline waters create a rich feeding ground for flamingos, giving its shoreline a pink glow.
- Keen to see rhinos and flamingos up close? Lake Nakuru delivers.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru to Amboseli – Kilimanjaro’s Shadow
Begin with a sunrise game drive in Lake Nakuru before traveling south (~320 km | 6–7 hours) through Maasai country to Amboseli National Park. Picnic lunch on the way.
Arrive at Amboseli Sopa Lodge, set in 200 acres of private bushland on the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. The lodge’s lush gardens and thatched buildings offer a peaceful retreat, with spacious rooms, a large swimming pool, and sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. In the late afternoon, head out for a sunset game drive. Amboseli is world-famous for its vast elephant herds and jaw-dropping views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak.
- Safari Moment: Elephants silhouetted against Kilimanjaro at golden hour—a scene you’ll never forget.

Day 6: Full Day in Amboseli – Land of Giants
Wake to the sight of Kilimanjaro’s snowcapped summit glowing in the morning light. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, visiting Observation Hill for panoramic views of Amboseli’s wetlands, plains, and wildlife.
Track elephants, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, and hundreds of bird species with your expert guide. Between drives, relax at the lodge, savor a hearty lunch, and soak in the safari atmosphere.
- Travel Tip: Amboseli’s dusty plains create dramatic backdrops—keep a lens cloth handy for your camera.
- Want to walk in the land of giants? Amboseli is waiting.

Day 7: Amboseli to Nairobi – Farewell to the Wild
Enjoy a final sunrise game drive, then depart for Nairobi (~240 km | 4–5 hours) with a picnic lunch along the way.
Your guide will transfer you to JKIA for your flight home or arrange an optional extra night in Nairobi.
