Booking Terms & Conditions | Pita Safaris – Trusted East Africa Safari Operator

Welcome to the official Booking Terms & Conditions of Pita Safaris, a trusted Kenya safari operator and East Africa travel company offering authentic, tailor-made safari holidays across Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda. Whether you’re planning a Big Five safari Kenya adventure, a budget safari Tanzania, or a luxury gorilla safari Uganda, these terms help ensure transparency, comfort, and safety as you explore the best national parks and cultural destinations East Africa has to offer.

By confirming your reservation, you agree to these conditions, supporting smooth travel arrangements with one of the region’s most reliable East Africa safari companies.

  1. General Terms of Booking

These terms apply to all Kenya safari packages, Tanzania safari holidays, and all bookings made with Pita Safaris. While updates may occur, the version current at the time of booking remains valid.

  1. Booking Confirmation & Payments

To secure your East Africa safari tour:

  • A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required
  • Final payment due 30–60 days before safari start date
  • Full payment required for bookings made within 30 days

Gorilla & Chimpanzee Permits: In gorilla trekking Rwanda, Bwindi safaris, or chimpanzee tracking Kibale, full advance payment is required. Gorilla permits are non-refundable and subject to availability.

Payment Methods:

  • M-Pesa (Kenya clients)
  • Bank Transfer (USD or KES)
  • Online Card Payment (Visa/Mastercard)

Group Joining Safaris such as budget safari Kenya or Tanzania adventure safaris must be paid in full upon confirmation.

  1. Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • Cancellations must be submitted in writing
  • Gorilla/chimpanzee permit fees are non-refundable
  • No-shows, missed flights, or unused services are not refundable
  • Force majeure events may allow date rescheduling
  1. What's Included / Excluded

Included in your Kenya or Tanzania travel package:

  • Lodge or camping accommodation
  • Meals: B, L, D
  • 4x4 game drives in destinations like Masai Mara, Serengeti, Lake Nakuru National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, and Amboseli elephant safari zones
  • Park entry fees for Kenya national parks, Tanzania national parks
  • Bottled water during safari
  • All budget camping gear (if applicable)

Not Included in your Kenya or Tanzania travel package:

  • International flights
  • Visas & vaccinations (see Kenya safari visa info & Tanzania safari visa info)
  • Travel insurance (mandatory)
  • Tips & personal expenses
  • Optional add-ons: hot air balloon safaris, cultural tours Samburu or Batwa, Mount Kenya climbing, Mount Kilimanjaro treks, Zanzibar beach safaris
  1. Mandatory Travel Insurance

All travelers must purchase comprehensive insurance covering:

Medical evacuation

  • Trip cancellation
  • Luggage loss
  • COVID-19 coverage (if applicable)
  1. Entry, Health & Visa

  • Yellow Fever certificate may be needed
  • Visa required for most travelers—see Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda & Tanzania requirements

  1. Safari Conduct & Luggage

  • Respect park rules and local cultures
  • Follow your local Tanzania safari company guide’s instructions
  • Only soft luggage (max 15kg) on fly-in safaris
  • Inform us of medical conditions at booking
  1. Child Policy

  • Children 4+ welcome
  • Gorilla trekking allowed for ages 15+
  • Family discounts offered on Kenya family safaris and Uganda lodge safari packages
  1. Photo & Media Consent

We may use photos taken during Kenya adventure safaris, Rwanda safari holidays, or Zanzibar beach safaris for marketing unless you opt out.

  1. Optional Excursions

Pre-book or pay locally for:

  • Hot air balloon rides in Masai Mara or Serengeti
  • Boat safaris at Lake Naivasha, Lake Kivu
  • Cultural visits to Batwa, Maasai, or Rwanda communities
  1. Tipping Guidelines

  • Safari Guide: $10–$20/day
  • Cook (camping safaris): $5–$10/day
  • Lodge Staff: Optional gratuities
  1. Budget Camping Safari Gear

We Provide:

  • Dome tents, cooking tools, sleeping mats

You Bring:

  • Sleeping bag, flashlight/headlamp
  • Power bank, repellent, and personal items
  1. Booking Modifications

Change requests (30+ days prior) are subject to availability. Peak season changes may incur fees.

  1. Government & Park Levies

All park fees and VAT are included unless stated. New levies added post-booking may be passed on.

  1. Pita Safaris Commitment

We pledge to:

  • Use only trusted Kenya safari operator guides
  • Work with reliable midrange Kenya safari lodges & camps
  • Promote responsible tourism Rwanda & nature and relaxation tours in Kenya
  • Ensure guest safety and satisfaction
  1. Legal Liability

  • We are not responsible for third-party transport delays or cancellations
  • You are responsible for meeting travel entry requirements
  • Jurisdiction is Nairobi, Kenya. Mediation preferred over litigation
  1. Acceptance of Terms

Confirming your Kenya safari holidays, Tanzania lodge safari, or any package via email or payment binds you to these terms.
