By booking or using our services, you agree to comply with the following Terms & Conditions, which are designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and smooth travel arrangements.
General Terms
These terms govern all bookings made directly with Pita Safaris Ltd. through our website, email, agents, or affiliates.
All safaris — whether private, group joining, budget camping, or luxury lodge tours — are subject to these terms.
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms & Conditions at any time, with updates effective from the date published on our website.
Booking & Payment Policy
To confirm your safari reservation:
- A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required upon confirmation.
- The balance must be paid 30–60 days before your safari begins.
- Last-minute bookings (within 30 days) require full payment at confirmation.
Payment Methods Accepted:
- Bank Transfer (USD/KES)
- Online Card Payment (Visa / Mastercard)
- M-Pesa (Kenyan clients only)
All payments are acknowledged via official Pita Safaris receipts and invoices.

Cancellations & Refunds
If you must cancel your safari, the following refund schedule applies:

| 91+ days | 75% refund |
| 61–90 days | 50% refund |
| 31–60 days | 25% refund |
| 0–30 days | No refund |
Important Notes:
- All gorilla and chimpanzee permits are non-refundable.
- No refunds for no-shows, missed flights, or unused services.
- In cases of force majeure (natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions), we may offer date rescheduling.
Inclusions & Exclusions
Included in Your Safari Package:
- Accommodation (budget, midrange, or luxury lodges/camps)
- All meals as per itinerary (B – Breakfast, L – Lunch, D – Dinner)
- 4x4 game drives in top national parks such as: Masai Mara, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, etc.
- Park entry fees
- Bottled drinking water
- Professional English-speaking driver-guide
- All government taxes and levies
Not Included:
- International flights & visas
- Travel insurance (mandatory)
- Tips & personal expenses
- Optional activities (e.g., hot air balloon safari, boat rides, cultural tours)
- Sleeping bags (for camping safaris)
Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients.
Your policy should cover:
- Medical emergencies & evacuation
- Trip cancellation or delay
- Luggage loss or theft
- COVID-19 disruptions
Entry, Health & Visa
Travelers are responsible for obtaining valid visas and vaccination certificates.
- Yellow Fever certificate may be required for Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

Child Policy
- Children aged 4 years and above are welcome.
- Family discounts apply on select Kenya and Tanzania safaris.
- Minimum age for gorilla trekking: 15 years.
Safari Conduct & Safety
Guests must:
- Follow park regulations and guide instructions.
- Respect local communities, wildlife, and environment.
- Avoid littering and off-road driving (unless permitted).
Safety is our top priority. Pita Safaris reserves the right to terminate participation of any traveler who poses a risk to others or wildlife.
Luggage & Baggage Policy
- Soft luggage bags only (max 15 kg per person) for fly-in safaris.
- Ensure valuables and documents are kept safe at all times.
Photography & Media
Unless otherwise stated, Pita Safaris may use photos or videos taken during your safari for marketing and promotional purposes.
You may opt out by notifying us in writing before departure.
Optional Excursions
Enhance your experience with optional add-ons:
- Hot air balloon safari in Masai Mara or Serengeti
- Boat ride on Lake Naivasha or Lake Kivu
- Cultural visits to Maasai villages, Batwa communities, or Zanzibar heritage sites
Optional excursions are paid locally or pre-booked upon request.
Tipping Guidelines
While not mandatory, tipping is appreciated:
- Safari Guide: $10–$20/day
- Cook (camping safaris): $5–$10/day
- Lodge Staff: Discretionary
Changes & Modifications
Requests to change travel dates or safari itineraries must be made at least 30 days before departure and are subject to availability.
During peak season, change fees may apply.
Liability & Disclaimer
Pita Safaris acts as an agent for hotels, transport companies, and lodges.
We are not liable for:
- Delays, cancellations, or injuries caused by third parties.
- Loss or damage of personal property.
- Force majeure events beyond our control.
We commit to responsible tourism, ensuring your safari is safe, ethical, and memorable.
Governing Law
All disputes or claims arising under these Terms & Conditions are governed by Kenyan law.
In case of disputes, amicable mediation will be prioritized before legal proceedings in Nairobi.
