Wake before dawn for the most challenging and rewarding stage of your Mount Kenya trekking adventure. Begin the ascent in darkness towards Point Lenana at 4,985 metres, the highest trekking summit on Mount Kenya.
The pre-dawn trail crosses rocky high-altitude terrain as you gradually approach the summit area. With conditions permitting, reach Point Lenana around sunrise, when the first light spreads across the surrounding valleys, plains and mountain landscape. The jagged peaks of Mount Kenya provide a spectacular backdrop for photographs and a memorable summit experience.
After spending time at Point Lenana, begin the descent through the mountain's changing alpine landscape. Continue down towards Old Moses Camp, where you will enjoy a well-earned meal and rest after your summit day.
