Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Into the Great Rift Valley

Your African safari adventure begins in Nairobi, where your professional Pita Safaris driver-guide picks you up early for the journey west. As the city fades behind you, descend into the dramatic Great Rift Valley—a natural wonder stretching across East Africa. Stop at a viewpoint to take in sweeping panoramas before continuing through farmlands and bustling Narok town, the gateway to the Mara.

Arrive at Masai Mara National Reserve in the afternoon and head straight into your first game drive. The golden light of evening reveals elephants, giraffes, zebras, and—if you’re lucky—lions awakening from their midday rest.

Tonight, settle into Lenchada Tourist Camp, your base for the next two nights. Sleep in cozy dome tents with foam mattresses and enjoy a hearty dinner prepared by your safari cook. Gather around the campfire with fellow travelers, sharing stories beneath a blanket of stars.

- Ready to begin your affordable African safari? The adventure starts here.

Distance: ~280 km | Drive Time: ~5–6 hours

Day 2: Masai Mara Safari – Full-Day Game Drive on the Plains

Wake to the magic of the bush—birdsong, distant lion roars, and the rustle of wildlife at dawn. After breakfast, pack your picnic lunch and set out for a full-day safari in Masai Mara, one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife destinations.

Track the Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino—alongside cheetahs, wildebeest, giraffes, and countless antelope species. Between July and October, you may witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, when millions of animals thunder across the Mara River in one of the world’s greatest natural spectacles.

Enjoy lunch near the riverbanks, where hippos wallow and crocodiles bask. As the sun sets, predators become more active, making for thrilling late-afternoon sightings.

Return to camp for dinner and campfire time. Optional add-ons include visiting a local Maasai village for a cultural experience or booking a sunrise hot air balloon safari for tomorrow.

- Looking for the ultimate Big Five safari in Kenya? Masai Mara delivers every time.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru – Rhino Country Awaits

After breakfast, say farewell to the Mara and drive north toward Lake Nakuru National Park (~5–6 hours). Travel through the Rift Valley highlands and arrive in Nakuru for an afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru is world-famous for its rhinos—both black and white—as well as Rothschild’s giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and elusive leopards. Bird lovers will enjoy spotting pelicans, herons, and flamingos along the soda lake’s shimmering shores.

This evening, check into Lanet Matfam Resort, a comfortable budget lodge with private en-suite rooms and hot showers—a welcome upgrade after two nights of camping.

- From lions in Masai Mara to rhinos in Nakuru, today showcases Kenya’s most iconic wildlife.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Lake Elementaita – Bird Walk & Return to Nairobi

After breakfast, head to the tranquil shores of Lake Elementaita, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and birdwatcher’s paradise. Join a local guide for a relaxed bird walk, spotting flamingos, pelicans, kingfishers, and more than 400 bird species, all set against volcanic hills.

This peaceful encounter contrasts beautifully with the raw drama of lions and wildebeest witnessed earlier in your safari.

By midday, begin your drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon for drop-off at your hotel or city center. If flying out, book your departure for later in the evening.

- Your Kenya safari ends here, but the memories of Africa’s wild beauty will stay with you forever.
