Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara – Into the Wild
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up in Nairobi. Travel west across the dramatic Great Rift Valley, stopping at a scenic viewpoint for panoramic photos, before continuing through the farmlands and plains of Narok County.
By mid-afternoon, arrive at Lenchada Tourist Camp, a trusted budget-friendly base near Oloolaimutia Gate. Settle into your dome tent accommodation with foam mattresses, shared hot showers, and toilets—simple yet cozy for a true camping safari in Kenya.
In the late afternoon, head out on your first game drive in Masai Mara National Reserve, where elephants, giraffes, lions, and cheetahs may be your first sightings. Return to camp at sunset for dinner and a campfire evening under starry African skies.
Travel Tip: Keep your camera handy during the drive—you’ll pass through some of Kenya’s most photogenic landscapes.

Day 2: Full-Day Masai Mara Safari – Big Cats & Migration
Wake up to breakfast before a full-day safari game drive in Masai Mara. Explore Africa’s richest wildlife sanctuary in a shared 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof for perfect photography.
Spot prides of lions, elephants crossing the plains, buffalo herds, galloping zebras, and giraffes grazing. If you travel between July and October, you’ll witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, a natural spectacle as millions of wildebeest and zebras thunder across the Mara River.
Pause for a picnic lunch in the heart of the reserve before resuming your adventure. By evening, return to camp for dinner. Optional: visit a Maasai village (extra cost) to learn about traditions, beadwork, and warrior culture.
Safari Moment: Watching the golden sunset over the Mara plains after a day of wildlife encounters is simply unforgettable.
- Looking for a budget safari in Kenya that still delivers the Big Five and migration action? Masai Mara is your answer.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Nairobi – Farewell to the Savannah
Enjoy your final camp breakfast. You may opt for an early morning game drive in Masai Mara (extra cost) to catch predators on the move at sunrise, or take a cultural visit to a nearby Maasai village.
By mid-morning, depart the Mara, retracing your route through Narok and the Great Rift Valley. Stop for lunch along the way before arriving in Nairobi late afternoon or evening. Drop-off is at your hotel or airport (extra cost for transfers).
Safari Reflection: In just three days, you’ve experienced Kenya’s most iconic safari destination, camped under the African stars, and made memories to last a lifetime.
- Want to extend your adventure? Ask Pita Safaris, your trusted East Africa safari operator, about combining Masai Mara with Lake Nakuru or Amboseli for a longer safari.
