It is in Masai Mara that the most spectacular migration event of the world takes place. Also known as 'The 7th Wonder of the World' because of the Great Migration, witnessed every year between July and September, when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. Following on their heels are the predators of savanna – lion, cheetah, jackal, hyena, and vultures. There is also resident wildlife year-round. The famous Masai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Optional - visit Maasai Village in the evening after the game drive. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

This is one of the top tourist destinations in Africa, famed for the Flamingos, both lesser and greater, that flock to its shores to feed on the cyanobacteria that live in its alkaline waters. It is a very important breeding ground and stopover for many species of birds and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At some times of the year, there can be between one and two million flamingos forming a big pink band around the edge of the Lake. The Park is home to one of the greatest concentrations of Black Rhino in the World and also has a thriving population of White Rhino. It is also a sanctuary for the rare Rothschild Giraffe. With luck, you may spot a leopard, which is rather elusive.
