Full Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi - Aberdare National Park

You will be picked up from your hotel or airport and depart proceeding to the Aberdare national park. The drive is scenic via the central Kenya highlands with stops to view tea and coffee plantations. There shall be a further stop to see and experience the largest open-air market in East Africa at Karatina. You will arrive at your base hotel (either the Aberdare country club or Outspan hotel) for check-in followed by lunch and transfer to your tree lodge. The tree hotels provide spectacular viewing perches for afternoon and night game viewing from the balconies of your tree lodge. Game is attracted by the waterholes and salt licks around the lodges. The Aberdare national park is home to elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs, and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat, and the blue duiker. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 2: Aberdare National Park - Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast transfer back to your base hotel (either the Aberdare country club or Outspan hotel) and proceeds with the drive across the Equator to the dramatic semi-arid scrubland of the Northern Frontier comprising of Buffalo Springs, Shaba, and Samburu game reserves. Arrive in time into your lodge or camp for check-in, lunch and some rest. Later you will depart for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 3: Samburu Game Reserve

Today, the full day is dedicated to enjoying the unique beauty of the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu National Reserve is a Kenyan less visited Game Reserve. It is relatively small in size compared to other Kenyan parks but it has more to offer as well as several endangered species. It is the home to the unique rare species only found north of equator that include the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryxes, giraffe-necked gazelle (gerenuk), and the Blue-neckedSomali Ostrich and it is also home to the big five, Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Leopard, Buffalo, Endangered Wild Dog as well as Pun cake Tortoise – Endangered. There are over 450 species of birds identified and aquatic species in the Ewaso Nyiro River including, vultures, kingfishers, marabous, bateleurs, guinea fowl, Somali ostriches, and others. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 4: Samburu Game Reserve - Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy

Early morning after breakfast we leave and head for Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which also contains two prominent sanctuaries, one for chimpanzees and another for rhino arriving in time into your lodge or camp for check-in, lunch and some rest. Afternoon game viewing drives at the Ol Pejeta / Sweetwaters conservancy. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for great apes and to generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprises for re-investment in conservation and community development. The Conservancy boasts the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and it also houses the two remaining northern white rhino in the world. The Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is situated here and provides a haven for orphaned, abandoned and rescued chimpanzees. It is the only place in Kenya where these great apes can be seen. The Conservancy is host to the "Big five game" among a large selection of other African animals, which makes it a popular safari destination. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 5: Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy - Lake Nakuru National Park

Early morning after breakfast we leave and head for Lake Nakuru national park. There shall be a stop to view the scenic Thompson falls at Nyahururu. The drive via farming country and local homesteads via the Great Rift Valley escarpment floor is scenically arriving in time into your lodge or camp for check-in, lunch and some rest. Later you will depart for afternoon game drives. The Lake Nakuru National Park is one of the top tourist destinations in Africa, famed for the Flamingos, both lesser and greater, that flock to its shores to feed on the cyanobacteria that live in its alkaline waters. It is a very important breeding ground and stopover for many species of birds and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. At some times of the year, there can be between one and two million flamingos forming a big pink band around the edge of the Lake. The Park is home to one of the greatest concentrations of Black Rhino in the World and also has a thriving population of White Rhino. It is also a sanctuary for the rare Rothschild Giraffe. With luck, you may spot a leopard, which is rather elusive. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru National Park - Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, depart driving through the Great Rift Valley heading to Masai Mara Game Reserve, Kenya’s finest wildlife haven arriving in time into your lodge or camp for check-in, lunch and some rest. Later you will depart for afternoon game drives. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 7: Maasai Mara Game Reserve

After breakfast, depart for a full day game drives in the reserve in search of the Big Five with picnic lunch at the hippo pool, while looking out for hippos and crocodiles. It is in Masai Mara that the most spectacular migration event of the world takes place. Also known as 'The 7th Wonder of the World' because of the Great Migration, witnessed every year between July and September, when millions of wildebeests and zebras cross Mara River from Serengeti National Park in Tanzania to Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya. Following on their heels are the predators of savanna – lion, cheetah, jackal, hyena, and vultures. There is also resident wildlife year-round. The famous Maasai tribesmen live within the dispersal area of the game reserve. Optional - visit Masai Village in the evening after the game drive. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 8: Maasai Mara Game Reserve - Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, you will check out and depart to Nairobi for lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant. After lunch depart to Amboseli National Park located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain at 5,896m whose snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rises above of the clouds and dominates every aspect of Amboseli. Enroute game drive on your way to the camp or lodge with possible views of the Mount Kilimanjaro peaks at Amboseli (Weather permitting). Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 9: Amboseli National Park

Rise up early after breakfast and set off with packed lunches for a full day game drive in Amboseli National Park. Weather permitting; there shall be awesome views of the Mount Kilimanjaro snow-capped peaks. Mount Kilimanjaro offers an awesome background for wildlife photography. Dinner and overnight at camp/lodge.

Day 10: Amboseli National Park - Nairobi

Enjoy early morning game drive followed by breakfast then embark on your return journey to Nairobi. You will arrive early afternoon and dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport for your scheduled international departure flight back home.

Safari tour price is indicated in US$-you may also book and pay in any convertible currency on-line If you are not keen on driving safari, you can opt for a flying option so that you can minimize on
driving time (extra cost)

This safari tour is private for your party and in own safari van and dedicated tour driver/ guide- (for both road travel & game viewing drives)

You are free to choose your specific lodge / tented camp in Budget, Midrange, luxury or High-End accommodation options provided-(this is subject to availability). We may have to reroute the
itinerary or accommodate in similar lodges in case of non-availability.

This amazing Kenya safari can also include a hot air balloon safari in Masai Mara (extra cost). Airport taxes or park fees may be changed without prior notice. This is beyond our control and any
increase levied will be passed to you.

PASSENGER INFORMATION

  • Passengers should bring only soft-sided bags on safaris. If you wish to continue with beach holiday after your safari, we advise you to have 2 bags: a soft bag for safari (max 15kg) and the beach suitcase that you will leave it to our staff on arrival at the airport.
  • All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for internal flights.
  • Baggage on internal flights is strictly limited to 15kgs per person (including hand luggage).
  • Any excess baggage will be charged by the airline at check-in.
  • Passengers will be asked to present a valid yellow fever vaccination certificate
