Day 1: Nairobi to Samburu National Reserve

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you'll begin your journey north to Samburu National Reserve. The drive offers scenic views of Kenya's diverse landscapes, from lush highlands to the arid regions of the north. Arriving at Samburu, you'll check into your lodge and have some time to freshen up. Later in the afternoon, you'll embark on your first game drive in this unique reserve. Samburu is known for its rare species such as the Grevy's zebra, the Somali ostrich, and the reticulated giraffe, often referred to as the "Samburu Special Five." As the day ends, return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful night's sleep surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 2: Exploring Samburu National Reserve

Today, you'll spend a full day exploring the rugged and beautiful Samburu National Reserve. After an early breakfast, set out on a morning game drive to catch the early risers and predators returning from their night hunts. The reserve's diverse habitats, from riverine forests to open savannahs, support a rich variety of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs. Midday, you’ll return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest to escape the midday heat. In the afternoon, venture out again for another game drive, perhaps visiting the Ewaso Ng’iro River, which attracts a variety of animals. As the sun sets, you'll head back to your lodge for dinner and relaxation under the star-studded African sky.

Day 3: Samburu to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, you'll leave the enchanting landscapes of Samburu and head towards Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, offering stunning vistas along the way. Upon arrival at Lake Nakuru, you'll check into your lodge and enjoy a hearty lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive around the lake, renowned for its flocks of flamingos that paint the shoreline pink. Lake Nakuru is also a sanctuary for rhinos and hosts other wildlife such as buffaloes, giraffes, and waterbucks. After a rewarding afternoon of wildlife viewing, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the tranquility of the park.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve

After an early breakfast, you'll set off for the famed Masai Mara National Reserve. Your journey will take you through the heart of the Great Rift Valley and into the sweeping plains of the Mara. Upon arrival, you'll check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, you'll embark on your first game drive in the Masai Mara, known for its incredible wildlife density and the annual Great Migration. The Mara is home to the Big Five and offers some of the best game viewing opportunities in Africa. After a thrilling afternoon, return to your lodge for dinner and a comfortable night's rest.

Day 5: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Today is dedicated to a full day of exploring the wonders of the Masai Mara. After an early breakfast, you'll head out for a morning game drive, increasing your chances of spotting predators like lions and cheetahs. The Masai Mara's diverse ecosystems, including open grasslands, woodlands, and riverine forests, support a wide variety of wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the reserve, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. In the afternoon, continue your game drive, perhaps witnessing the dramatic scenes of the Great Migration if you visit during the season.
