Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you will depart for the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve. The drive takes you through the scenic Great Rift Valley, offering stunning views of the Kenyan landscape. Upon arrival at your lodge in the Masai Mara, you will check-in and enjoy a leisurely lunch. In the afternoon, embark on your first game drive in this legendary reserve. The Masai Mara is renowned for its dense population of wildlife, including the Big Five – lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes. As you traverse the expansive savannah, you may also spot cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, and a variety of antelope species. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness.

Day 2: Full Day in Masai Mara National Reserve

Rise early for a morning game drive, when the animals are most active and the light is perfect for photography. Witness the breathtaking sight of the sun rising over the Mara plains, illuminating the landscape and its inhabitants. After an exhilarating drive, return to the lodge for a sumptuous breakfast. The rest of the morning can be spent at your leisure – perhaps relaxing by the pool, or enjoying the lodge’s facilities. For those seeking an extraordinary experience, an optional hot air balloon safari offers a bird's-eye view of the Mara's wildlife and terrain. After lunch at the lodge, head out for an afternoon game drive. The Masai Mara is also home to the Maasai people, and you have the option to visit a local Maasai village to learn about their traditional way of life, their customs, and their connection to the land. Conclude your day with dinner at the lodge and another night immersed in nature.

Day 3: Masai Mara to Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast at the lodge, bid farewell to the Masai Mara as you set off for Lake Nakuru National Park. The drive takes you through diverse landscapes, from the open savannahs of the Mara to the more wooded and bushy grasslands around Lake Nakuru. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, embark on a game drive around Lake Nakuru, renowned for its large flocks of flamingos that paint the shores pink. The park is also a sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos, and you may spot these magnificent creatures along with Rothschild giraffes, lions, and leopards. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay, surrounded by the natural beauty of Lake Nakuru.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart Lake Nakuru and drive to the enchanting Lake Naivasha. This freshwater lake, located in the Great Rift Valley, is a birdwatcher's paradise and offers a tranquil environment to relax. Upon arrival, check into your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha, where you can observe hippos wallowing in the water and a myriad of bird species, including fish eagles, pelicans, and kingfishers. For those seeking more adventure, a visit to Crescent Island Game Park, where you can walk among the wildlife, or a hike in Hell's Gate National Park, known for its dramatic scenery and geothermal activity, are excellent options. Return to your lodge for dinner and a peaceful night's sleep.

Day 5: Lake Naivasha to Nairobi & Departure

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge before making your way back to Nairobi. Depending on your flight schedule, you might have time for some last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Nairobi. You can explore local markets such as Maasai Market for unique souvenirs, or visit the Karen Blixen Museum, the former home of the famous "Out of Africa" author. If you have a late flight, a visit to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust to see orphaned elephants is also highly recommended.
